FlishRC to Flywing setup tutorial

0° ORIENTATION (CONTROLLER MOUNTED BACKWARDS) – VALIDATION CHECKLIST Gyro Direction Check Correction: Verify roll, pitch, and yaw corrections move the swash in the opposite direction of disturbance. Result: Stabilization works correctly (heli resists movement instead of amplifying it). Swashplate Direction Correction: Use swash direction/reverse settings so cyclic inputs tilt the swash correctly (forward = forward, right = right). Result: Pilot inputs match real-world movement. Servo Direction Correction: Reverse individual servos where needed so all swash movements are coordinated properly. Result: Clean, correct swash motion with no binding or opposing servos. Collective Direction Correction: Ensure positive collective increases pitch (lift) correctly. Result: Proper climb/descent response. Compass Calibration Correction: Calibrate compass in the actual mounted orientation. Result: Heading is accurate (North is North). GPS / Loiter Test Correction: Verify position hold and drift behavior. Result: Stable loiter with no circling or “toilet bowling”. Stick Direction Check Correction: Confirm all transmitter inputs match expected heli movement. Result: Intuitive and predictable control. FINAL RESULT: All sensor inputs and control outputs are aligned, so the helicopter flies exactly like a correctly oriented setup — despite the controller being physically reversed.
