In the first video on the circulatory system, I tried to explain the concept of circulation and the structure of the heart. The heart is the primary organ of the circulatory system. It consists of the pericardium, myocardium, and endocardium, from the outside to the inside. The pericardium is a double-layered membrane filled with pericardial fluid, which reduces friction during heartbeats. The myocardium is the muscular layer and is thicker in the left ventricle, which pumps blood throughout the body. Our heart consists of four chambers: the upper two atriums and the lower two ventricles. The left side of the heart holds clean blood, while the right side holds impure blood. There are bicuspid valves between the left atrium and left ventricle, and tricuspid valves between the right atrium and right ventricle. The sinoatrial SA and atrioventricular AV nodes are also located on the heart. Electrical impulses generated in these nodes regulate the heart's rhythm.
