Today's Light of Life Serenity is a Decision of Trust Philippians 4:6-7 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Imagine you are on a plane that suddenly experiences severe turbulence. The intense shaking leaves everyone on board panicked and terrified. However, when you peek into the cockpit, you see the pilot sitting perfectly still. He is smiling, expertly controlling the controls, and knows exactly where the plane is headed. Instantly, your fear turns to serenity. Why? Because you know the plane is in the right hands. Your serenity doesn't depend on the situation outside the plane, but on who is in the captain's chair. True serenity isn't a state of being without problems. It's a decision. Every day, we are faced with a choice: continue to cling to our own worries, or surrender the reins of our lives to God. When the storms of trouble come, choose to pray and give thanks. When you decide to entrust your life to the Great Captain, His supernatural peace will immediately guard your heart and mind.
