Perkins Brailler - Factory Maintenance Procedure - Part 2 of 2

In this video we continue with the second half of the Maintenance procedure. A lint free rag is used to ensure that all of the kerosene is removed from the unit after drying overnight. Also I do one last over on the paper loading mechanism. I assemble all of the oils and grease required and start applying as prescribed in the correct locations using the correct oils for the application.For the key bearings, after oil is applied, the grease is placed over the oil. For the cam rods I used a foam brush for easier application of the oil. The trunions also have grease applied after oiling. The rubber roller is cleaned with alcohol. Assembly begins at this point after a test of the unit with the back plate which also requires a bit of an alignment as shown . This is followed by the front plate, and then the carriage lever. Then comes the Apron. The paper guide gets oil before assembly, after which the top is installed. With the last few pieces and the bottom cover installed, the assembly is finished. Finally my sister comes over personally to run an test and inspection of the unit, along with a quick demonstration.
