Solo Hiking the 3 Highest Mountains in the UK
Join me on a solo hiking adventure as I conquer the Three Peaks in the UK—Snowdon/Yr Wyddfa, Ben Nevis, and Scafell Pike—all in breathtaking winter conditions. Editing this film was a fun and amusing process as each shot before cutting ends with me running back to the camera, but I’m proud of how it all came together. I hope you enjoy the journey as much as I did filming it! I originally planned to add a voiceover to guide you through each hike, but I felt it took away from the beauty of the visuals. Instead, I chose to let the natural sounds and carefully selected music create a more immersive, almost ASMR like experience. I hope this approach helps convey the raw beauty of these incredible locations and allows you to fully soak in the atmosphere. About Each Hike Snowdon/Yr Wyddfa 🏔️ - The Highest in Wales at 1,085 meters (3,560 feet) above sea level. I hiked up and down via the Pyg Track, known for its stunning views of Llyn Llydaw and rugged terrain. It’s a challenging but rewarding route with a mix of rocky paths and steep climbs, leading to the highest peak in Wales. Previously I’ve done the Watkins Path too and both of these are probably the 2 best choices for the best views. Ben Nevis 🏴 - The Highest in Scotland and all the UK - 1,345 meters (4,413 feet) I took the Mountain Track (also known as the Tourist Route), which starts at the Glen Nevis Visitor Centre. It’s a gradual but non stop ascent with a well-defined path, but the upper section gets steeper and rockier, offering breathtaking views from the UK’s highest peak. Scafell Pike 🏞️ - The Highest in England but actually only the 257th highest in the UK at 978 meters (3,209 feet) I hiked from Wasdale Head, the most direct and popular route. The trail is steep and rocky, with a steady climb that becomes more challenging near the summit. The panoramic views at the top make the effort totally worth it though! 🍿 Subscribe - https://bit.ly/3hBKJSj 📸 INSTAGRAM - / jakeadv 🌍 WEBSITE - https://jakeadv.com Gear I used in this video Camera - https://amzn.to/429EjTa Lens - https://amzn.to/42fwoE3 Filter - https://amzn.to/4cl0YAH Mic - https://amzn.to/3YaK41I Tripod - https://amzn.to/3RpefhQ Microspikes - https://amzn.to/4iQt5u7 Listen to Audiobooks - I was listening to Lord Of The Rings during these hikes which I thought was quite appropriate. Hi, I'm Jake 👋 and I went backpacking in 2016 to Indonesia before spending a year in New Zealand and Australia. Afterwards I spent a couple of years teaching English online while travelling full time all over South East Asia and then Europe and Turkey in a camper van with my previous partner, but we have since gone our separate ways and I am now back doing my favourite thing - Solo Travel. Join me on my journey as I continue to find new adventures and experiences to make the most out of this little thing we call life. P.S.
