In this video, Krischan and I take you on a tour that has it all: a piece of moped history, a short trip through our home in Schleswig-Holstein, and a new tinkering project we've been itching to tackle. Today's focus is on Krischan's 50cc DKW Hummel 166, which is due back on the road after decades of hibernation. But, as always, the challenges lie in the details! The Zündapp Hummel Awakens – Restoration and Repair Join us as we attempt to revive the DKW Hummel 166, which Krischan acquired from a museum in 1990, after a year of inactivity. We check the engine, check the ignition, and hope that the 5-speed, 4.6 hp, engine will start without major repairs. We compare it with my Zündapp Combinette KS and philosophize about restoring classic cars. Adventures at the Giant and the Schlei Our moped tour takes us to a very special place: the Giant of Ulsnis! There, we'll inaugurate a new bench and tell the legend behind the sculpture. From quarreling giant brothers to stones flying across the Schlei – a story almost as wild as our tinkering sessions. By the water, we'll enjoy the peace and quiet, the beautiful view, and reminisce about old times. A new project awaits: The NSU Fox and its crankshaft Finally, we'll show you a new problem child, the NSU Fox motorcycle.
