It’s been about a year since I last rode Armstrong Foils. In that time, I’ve been deep in the Code Foils ecosystem, and more recently I’ve stepped away and gone fully independent. That’s opened things up to test a wide range of different foil brands, systems, and setups across downwind, parawing, winging, and prone. So this isn’t just a standard product review. This is a fresh look at Armstrong after time away — with new perspective — and a deep dive into their latest release, the Ultra High Aspect foil (UHA). In this video, I break down the Armstrong system as a whole, what still feels class-leading, where I think there’s room for improvement, and how the UHA actually performs on the water across a range of conditions. WHAT’S COVERED – Coming back to Armstrong after a year away – Why the Armstrong system still feels so refined – Build quality, titanium hardware, and overall ecosystem – The reality of setup (yes… there are still a lot of screws) – Where the system could improve (650 fuse please 👀) – Full breakdown of the UHA foil – Pump, glide, speed range, and real-world usability – Size guide from 1270 down to 570 – Best sizes for downwind, parawing, winging, and prone – UHA vs MA — where each foil fits MY TAKE The UHA isn’t just hype. It’s one of the easiest high-performance foils I’ve ridden, with a huge usable range and serious glide. Where it really stands out is in open water — downwind, parawing, linking bumps — it just keeps going. At the same time, this video isn’t a fanboy take. There are still a couple of things I’d like to see improved, and I cover those honestly as always.
