Meet the Characters from Back to the Basics Professor Theo Von Zeitreise is an old, eccentric scientist with a love of history, a passion for teaching kids, and a desire to share the Bible. Yet, the Professor always remains upbeat and excited no matter what happens because all of it can be viewed through a scientific lens. Goober is the Professor’s trusted lab assistant. Although he’s relatively slow to catch onto things, he’s got a big heart and is always doing his best to do what the Professor wants him to do.
