Unexpectedly, after leaving his hotel following the event, he was attacked and injured by a 33-year-old Chinese man surnamed Liao. Fortunately, the police quickly intercepted and arrested Liao at Taichung International Airport. The Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council of China responded today (8th), stating that this was an "isolated security incident" and that it was an act of personal indignation by the perpetrator.
