Extract from Lament for Jerusalem from John Rutter’s 'Visions'

An extract from John Rutter’s Visions – a continuous four-movement work which is a showpiece for solo violin, but unusual in its scoring which combines a choir of upper voices with strings and harp. https://global.oup.com/academic/produ... Rutter believes this to be the first ever violin concerto with choir. This film is an extract from the third movement, Lament for Jerusalem, featuring the expressive solo violin writing. The publication comes alongside a premiere recording featuring Kerson Leong, winner of the 2010 Junior Menuhin Prize, with The Temple Church Boys’ Choir and Aurora Orchestra conducted by the composer. The work is available in two different scorings: solo violin, harp and string ensemble or solo violin, harp and organ. © Oxford University Press
