MGS6 EV Review: $50K Driveaway Beats Model Y Sealion 7 EV5? 1 Weak Point Might Stop It

MG S6 EV sets a new benchmark for the hotly contested mid size fully electric SUV space in Australia with lots of space, features and well over 500km of WLTP range available for less than 50K driveaway regardless where you live. My first drive impressions of the MG S6 EV are genuinely exciting. This is a mid-size electric SUV that sits in a really interesting part of the market, and the drive experience surprised me in the best way. I came in as an MG4 77 owner with high expectations, and for the most part this car delivered. The drive feel is confident and composed. It handles Sydney's bumpy roads and wet weather well, and I have a clear take on which version of the car I think is actually worth buying. If you agree you'll save $7000 and get an EV with enough range to do the Sydney to Melbourne route with just 2 charging stops. There are a few things that stand out compared to other Chinese EVs at this price point, and a couple of things that are missing. One answer I got from MG on an important question was frustratingly vague. It's worth knowing about before you decide. Pricing is driveway across the country, no games, no surprise delivery fees.
