#58 Sakramentalność słowa Bożego (Sojka & Strzelczyk)

Information about the podcast, episodes, and authors: https://teologiazkatowic.pl In this ecumenical episode, we speak with Jerzy Sojka about the theology of the Word of God: its agency, the relationship between the text of Scripture, proclamation, and faith, and whether and in what sense we can speak of the "sacramentality" of the Word. Our starting point is both the practice of the Reformation and Catholic reflection on word, sacrament, and the action of the Holy Spirit. We ask what actually happens when the Word of God is read, proclaimed, and received in the community of the Church. We return to Luther, the Council of Trent, scholasticism, preaching, and the Renaissance return to sources, as well as to contemporary attempts to recover a more powerful language for describing the effectiveness of the Word in the liturgy. We are interested not only in the historical dispute between Catholicism and the Reformation, but also in the deeper question of how the Word of God works: does it merely instruct, or does it also truly shape faith, the Church, and the human response to God's call. We reflect on the relationship between the word read, the word proclaimed, and the sacramental word, as well as on how different Christian traditions have attempted to describe the same reality of faith. Our conversation also raises questions about the role of the preacher, the importance of understanding the word, and why certain theological intuitions may be present in the Church but for a long time fail to find an appropriate language for themselves.
