The talking donkey.

Driven by the promise of wealth and honor, the prophet Balaam set out on a journey that directly opposed the will of God. He was so completely blinded by his own greed and ambition that he couldn't see the spiritual danger right in front of him. But his donkey did. Three times, the donkey swerved to save Balaam from the drawn sword of the Angel of the Lord standing in the road. And three times, an angry, oblivious Balaam beat the animal for refusing to move forward. Finally, God opened the donkey's mouth to speak a word of rebuke, and opened Balaam's eyes to the terrifying reality that his stubbornness had almost cost him his life.
