We pray for revival while people walk right past us. We pray for community while ignoring our neighbors. We pray for harvest while standing in the middle of the field. Jesus told the disciples to lift their eyes. Not because the harvest was coming. Because the harvest was already there. In John 4:34-38, Jesus pulls the disciples out of a conversation about lunch and points them toward a crowd of Samaritans making their way across the field. The opportunity was not on the horizon. It was already in motion. The only problem was that nobody was looking. This message from Dr. Darwin L. Mason Jr. challenges one of the most common blind spots in the church: the belief that ministry is always somewhere else, always someone else, always waiting on better conditions, better programs, or better people.
