Tommy Steele Showed Elvis Around London in 1958
On Ken Bruce's Tracks of My Years interview in his BBC Radio 2 show, on 21 April 2008, his guest, Bill Kenwright, revealed that British rock'n'roll hero Tommy Steele had given Elvis Presley a one-day guided tour of London in 1958. (Elvis was serving with the US Army and stationed in Germany at the time.) The official line is that the only place in the UK that Elvis set foot was Scotland, on his return from serving in the US Army in Germany. This segment is a guest appearance on Steve Chelmsford's Mop Tops and The King radio show, 12 February 2021.
