Why Traffic Cameras Are Missing from Many US Roads

Now people can stop asking why America doesn't just install a red light camera! Quick spoilers for description readers: Many have argued constituitonal concerns of red light cameras, and I find the arguments and use of the law fascinating, but I personally find the arguments to be too much of a reach. Where I DO understand the issues with red light cameras are in having a third party (non-law-enforcement) autonomously catching violations and issuing citations in law enforcement's name. This is addressed in the video, but with the numerous cases of cops changing the timing of the lights to generate more revenue, and third parties providing faulty data, it really builds distrust in these devices that are MEANT to be there to increase safety, NOT revenue. I personally think more Americans would be on board with the use of these cameras if they felt "fair" and if the money went somewhere like fixing the broken infrastructure rather than to local police budgets. But in their current state, it makes sense why many states have banned or restricted their use. If for some reason the constitutional concerns of red light cameras went all the way to the supreme court, it is of my believe it would be dismissed.
