CUCM/CUPS 8.6 PCD Migration to CUCM/IM&P 11.0.x

Through this video, I'll show you how to migrate a CUCM/CUPS 8.6 to CUCM/IM&P 11.0.1 This video is no replacement for reading the documentation on the migration, and also the Release Notes for the product. This is only meant to be a visual guide of how the procedure will look like, so you can have a reference for the time when you do this. All the related documentation, can be found here: PCD guide http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/... PCD RNs http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/... My environment was V2V, it would be the SAME procedure for a P2V migration, make sure you're running a supported release for this. Also, VERY IMPORTANT, PCD does NOT work with CUCM 5K. It will error out as it will not be able to recognize both apps in the same server. Another important consideration, if you have a full CDR/CAR DB, there are good chances the migration will fail, due to a timeout in the data migration of all the CDR entries, it's STRONGLY recommended, to clear up the CDR/CAR DB before the migration. Now, what COP files do YOU need to install on your servers??? NOTHING, you, will install absolutely nothing, PCD will install the two files I mention at the end of the video, without your intervention. A lot of people will tell you that the migration failed, because you didn't install the RU COP, or the V3 RSA keys, as you can see in the video, that is absolutely wrong, neither of them are required. The reason for that, is because PCD will do a fresh install of the target version, meaning, at no point will it/you load the ISO to your original CUCM/CUP (this means it will not load it, try to check the checksum and fail), nor it will require the RU changes to switch from RHEL4 to RHEL5+ (again, you're not upgrading the system, it will remain the same) If you still have doubts about the procedure, if you meet the entitlement, you can reach us, the PDI Technical Advisors team, at http://www.cisco.com/go/pdita In the above page, you can find our entitlement requirements, working hours, and how to open a case. I also encourage you to review my FAQ before opening a case, I cover a lot of products in it: http://docwiki.cisco.com/wiki/Unified...
