Beginner Hypopressives on the Floor | Gentle Pelvic Floor & Core Exercises
Welcome to Part 3 of my Hypopressives for Complete Beginners series. Before trying this session, please make sure you’ve watched the first two beginner videos, as they explain hypopressives and introduce the hypopressives breathing used. In this gentle beginner practice, we’ll explore simple floor-based hypopressive exercises designed to help you connect with: ✨ pelvic floor support ✨ deep core activation ✨ posture and breathing ✨ pressure management ✨ postnatal recovery Hypopressives are increasingly being used to support symptoms associated with: ✅pelvic floor dysfunction ✅prolapse ✅urinary incontinence ✅core weakness after pregnancy This floor-based practice can feel like a supportive starting point if you’re new to hypopressives and want to begin slowly and gently. If you are postnatal, you'll need to wait until you've been cleared to exercise by your doctor which is usually: around 8 weeks after a vaginal birth around 12 weeks following a caesarean birth Please only practise hypopressive breathing if you do not have contraindications to the vacuum breath. And remember - like any new movement or breathing practice, hypopressives can take time to learn, so be patient with yourself as you begin. Working with a qualified hypopressives trainer can also be helpful for checking technique and building confidence. Here's the next video to try: • Struggling with the Hypopressive Vacuum? |... Enjoy!
