1 Jahr Wasserstoffzüge im Taunusnetz (1 year hydrogen trains in the Taunus network)

The Taunus network of the Rhine-Main Transport Association (RMV) was taken over by DB subsidiary Regionalverkehre Start Deutschland in December 2022. Start Deutschland is slated to operate state-of-the-art hydrogen trains on all four lines of the network. However, only a few of the new trains were available at the timetable change, so service initially began primarily with replacement trains. Individual solutions were found for each line; in some cases, the Hessian State Railway (HLB), the previous operator, continued to run services for a few more months. The video shows the trains that have been in use over the past 12 months, from HLB trains and the Rhine-Main S-Bahn to the now more frequently seen hydrogen trains (iLINT). Of course, the refueling runs to the Höchst Industrial Park are also included. In addition to the two lines in the Taunus and the Soden Railway, the connection to Friedberg was also integrated into the Taunus network at the start of the new transport contract. It remains to be seen when service on all lines will be fully normal. Note: This video was filmed in the weeks leading up to the 2023 timetable change, a period during which it was sometimes unclear exactly how things would proceed on the respective route in the new timetable year. Therefore, developments in daily operations over the past few weeks are only partially reflected. The RB 11 on the Sodener Bahn line was taken over by Start again with the timetable change, and an iLINT train is now in service.
