Was the Pike Rumor Actually TRUE? #northernpike

After hearing rumors about northern pike swimming in this Northbrook, Illinois lake, I had to come back and see if the stories were actually true. We started the day targeting bass with crankbaits and soft plastics around shoreline cover, but things quickly changed when a surprise giant absolutely crushed my long-bill crankbait near a laydown. With light rain, wind, and perfect moving-bait conditions, the bite stayed steady all day. This turned into one of those fishing sessions that reminds you that you truly never know what’s going to hit next.
