De Apenheul gorilla's, mei 2021: baby Kiango! (Apenheul gorilla's, May 2021: gorillababy Kiango!)

24/5/2021: Het is de eerste keer sinds oktober dat we de mogelijkheid hadden om Apenheul te bezoeken. Eindelijk weer naar de gorilla's! Zeker nu Gyasi (2002) bevallen is van zoontje Kiango (21/2/2021) wilde ik dat erg graag. Het was helaas niet het beste weer, de regen bleef maar vallen. Gelukkig werd het wel steeds minder. Niet alle gorilla's waren te zien. Zilverrug Bao Bao (1985), de vader van Kiango, en het vrouwtje Mintha (1974) kwamen niet tevoorschijn. Hun groepsgenoten, de dames Mandji (1975), Nemsi (2001), Chama (2011) en Gyasi plus baby lieten zich goed zien. En apart van hen heeft puber Jabari (2012) zijn 'eigen' eiland, tot hij zal verhuizen naar een andere dierentuin. Hij zit daar niet alleen, afwisselend heeft hij gezelschap van 1 of meer dames. Deze dag was dat M'Fugaji (2009). Bij de gorilla's op het eiland wonen ook L'Hoest meerkatten, het mannetje Moto en vrouwtje Mojo. #gorilla #gorillababy #Apenheul It is the first time since October that we had the opportunity to visit Apenheul.
