International Host Lab in Spain - "ABC, The Alphabet of Love" | Documentary by Levent Karatas

Here for you all the first documentary of the docuseries on "ABC Arts/Borders/Community - The Alphabet of Love", a project co-funded by the European Union (Creative Europe program) and coordinated by Astràgali Teatro (Italy), in partnership with Fundacion De La Danza “Alicia Alonso” (Spain), Grotowski Institute (Poland), Aykart (Tunisia), AVR Lab of the Department of Innovation Engineering of University of Salento (Italy), City Museums and Galleries of Podgorica and Podgorica City Theatre (Montenegro). This documentary, directed by Levent Karatas, is specifically about the International Host Lab in Spain, a large and innovative new format that was first tested and implemented in Spain in the cities of Peguerinos and Fuenlabrada within ABC project ABC plays around an acronym for "Arts, Borders and Communities", three main focuses of the activities which together can create an Alphabet of Love, which is so necessary in these times of wars. It envisages a complex program of actions aimed to develop cross-border, multidisciplinary artistic activities, in order to experiment and enhance cultural and social practices and methodologies, focusing on the concept and practice of hospitality. This is precisely what the International Host Lab is based on: hosting in Spain numerous international actresses and actors, performers, masters, performances, and residencies, particularly from the other countries that participated in the project—in this case, Poland, Italy, Tunisia, and Montenegro—but also giving space and voice to the many activities of Spanish artists, young dancers, and masters. The value and culture of hospitality, in its many forms and traditions, are the foundation of ABC. All the initiatives you will see in the documentary aimed to make the performing arts a concrete tool for building bridges between people, promoting cultural exchange, showing that peaceful coexistence between peoples is needed and possible and that arts can play a role in it. The International Host Lab in Spain was coordinated by Fundacion De La Danza "Alicia Alonso", specifically by Dr. Luis Llerena Diaz.
