US Coast Guard Auxiliary volunteer communicator program explained to San Diego ARES 12-19-20

San Diego ARES Special Zoom Presentation recorded 12-19-20 provides an overview of the entire US Coast Guard Auxiliary (USCGAUX) volunteer program and an in-depth look at the USCGAUX volunteer communicator program. Presented by ARES Member & USCGAUX volunteer Bill Calderwood K1CT, the topics covered include: Auxiliary missions, such as: Safety patrols - land, sea and air Security patrols Eyes and ears patrols Verifying aids to navigation. Public Education – boating safety courses Vessel Safety examinations Augment the USCG sensor operators, linguists, Lawyers, maritime inspectors, and food service. Radio Communications program provides trained operators and radio facilities ready to augment the Coast Guard's mission. Radio Communications activities include training, disaster response, monitoring distress frequencies and maritime safety broadcasts, and radio equipment.
