The IRGC warned ships not to approach the Strait of Hormuz or risk their security. The Iranian military stated that Israel's actions violated the agreement reached with the United States. The closure was Iran's response to Israel's actions. Previously, Iran and the US had agreed to a memorandum of understanding (MoU) that paved the way for negotiations on Iran's nuclear program, sanctions relief, and various regional security issues. Meanwhile, Israel continues to bombard Lebanese territory following a ceasefire with Hezbollah. There were reportedly 12 Israeli airstrikes and artillery shelling of southern Lebanon after the deadline. These attacks killed 47 people and injured 97 others. Hezbollah stated that it was adhering to the ceasefire and accused Israel of making false claims to justify its violations. The next talks between Lebanon and Israel will take place in Washington, USA, on June 23-25.
