Regency Corset Round 2: Sewing a Redthreaded Pattern

Hello I’m Sophie. Welcome to the beginning of my sewing journey, come along with me through all the mistakes and seam ripping! And hopefully feel some solidarity that there are others bumbling their way through this hobby. Follow me on Instagram to see what I’m currently working on-   / andsewitbegins_   Inspired by Emma (2020) and Bridgerton, as I’m sure many others have been, I have started sewing Regency clothes. As I am quite new to historical costuming this is my first time making something from this period. I made short stays in the last video, and while they turned out great, they do not look good under regency clothes because of my larger bust. So I’ve decided to start again from scratch. This video is about constructing Regency era stays using the Redthreaded pattern. I am using the size 18 pattern as well as the plus size materials kit from Redthreaded. I had to make adjustments to the pattern pieces to accommodate a more plus size figure. Disclaimer I am very much an amateur sewist and make many mistakes and use questionable at best techniques 00:52 - Mock Up fitting 03:22 - Gussets and Gores 11:40 - Boning and Eyelets 18:40 - Binding 23:47 - Reveal Materials Used: https://redthreaded.com/collections/m...
