When an Assassin spawned, I waited a few seconds before dropping (if they insta leaped on spawn I immediately dropped) which usually led to me dropping just as they leaped, giving me a chance to shoot them as they landed or climbed down to chase me. Tricky event, but the rest of the map is surprisingly chill. I think it's because the hordes mostly just come from two directions, so you don't have to deal with things constantly spawning around you like in Garden of Morr. Good hold spots as well. Getting a Chaos Spawn + horde at the start before the sewers or just before the drop into the Old City cesspit can be difficult. The map was Convocation of Decay.
