Our Final 2017 Chevy Bolt EV Road Trip

Our last road trip in the 2017 Chevy Bolt EV takes us on the familiar route from Boston to Cleveland, but this time flying solo (well, one fluffy passenger you'll meet :-) and trying to jam out the 650 miles or so in one day. We've done that with the longer range of the 2020 Bolt on the trip to Austin, TX - watch that one here:    • 4,000+ Miles to Fully Charged Live - Chevy...   - but our Ohio-bound adventures in the 2017 have always involved a late start with the kids and an overnight stay around Syracuse or Rochester, NY. After checking out a well-new placed new charging stop in Scotia, NY (thanks for the free charge... we'll be back!), we try to stick to the preferred strategy of veteran Bolt EV drivers: leave as quickly as possible after the first step down around 55% to maximize 50-55kW charging. The distances and locations make that a challenge on parts of this route, though, and there's always the question mark over several of Electrify America's NY Thruway locations. How well did they get us across the state this time? Check out the video to find out!
