Lightening Up My XJ - Trip Preparations

My XJ has gotten heavier and heavier as the years have gone by. Rock rash is a huge problem on all kinds of vehicles that drive gravel roads regularly. Gradually the paint and undercoat get sand blasted and corrosion starts. Stopping it is cheap and easy, ut its more than just bolting/screwing plates to the underside to take the brunt of the impact. They must be spaced out enough to allow water and dirt to escape making the vehicle easy to clean ut protected for impacts. While this may not be important on a rock crawler or dedicated offroad rig, it can make a huge difference on an overlanded or a vehicle you care about. There are many direct to metal stone chip applications out there that you can spray on your undercarriage, but a physical barrier gives you that peace of mind... Thanks for watching!
