Streamlined Oil and Water - Allan Ackerman & Howard Lyons
This fun ending to an Oil and Water effect first appeared in my book, "Here's My Card." The book was written in 1973 and given to my publisher Gambler's Book Club that year. I showed the routine to Steve Freeman, Roger Klause, Dai Vernon, Jimmy Grippo, Ricky Jay, and others that year. I showed the sequence to Paul Harris in 1974. Unfortunately, the book did not get published until some years later as magic books were not a high priority for G.B.C., and some of the material started to appear in other publications. I started doing Howard Lyon's Wild Root effect in 1967 and created the second phase in the late nineties. This sequence appeared in the Linking Ring magazine about a decade back. I currently do three Oil and Water routines; this was my first and is still one of my favorites. More Mixed up Blues from the Al Cardpone lecture notes and No Extras from Card Theater. The No Extras routine is now an impromptu three-phase sequence that I will be publishing in the future.
