Originally from the U.S., the Amundson family joined BIS Abu Dhabi in August 2022, looking for a more challenging and supportive learning environment for their children: Emma (Year 11), Carter (Year 8), and Olivia (Year 6). Three years on, they’re thriving academically, emotionally, and socially, and their mum, Sarah, couldn’t be happier with the decision to switch from an American curriculum. Sarah highlights the warmth of the BIS Abu Dhabi community,from the welcoming staff at reception to the supportive teachers who are deeply involved in each child’s progress. Each child has found their own path to success: Emma has embraced opportunities like the DofE, BSME Dance, and a drama trip to New York, while Carter overcame early challenges with the help of dedicated staff and recently competed in the BSME Golf Tournament. Olivia, the youngest for now, shines with her positive attitude and love for learning—and they’re all excited for their youngest sibling, Liam, to start in Early Years this August.
