Fighter pilots intercepted a simulated enemy aircraft. They used air-to-air missiles against the enemy. The R-73 missile is capable of engaging and destroying an aerial target up to 20 kilometers away. Target acquisition and post-launch adjustments are accomplished using an infrared homing head. This type of weapon operates on a "fire and forget" principle. The enemy aircraft is represented by a flare bomb carried by the crew of a Yak-130 aircraft.
