This specific section covers the journey from the Snow Creek and Tioga Road trail junction, across the panoramic granite plateau via Indian Rock and North Dome, and concludes at the brink of Upper Yosemite Falls. The route begins where the forest levels out at the Snow Creek junction, continuing through mixed conifer forest toward Indian Rock—a natural granite arch formation and the highest point of the hike at approximately 2,549 m (8,362 ft). From there, the footage follows the trail as it traverses Indian Ridge out onto the exposed granite of North Dome, offering extensive, iconic views of Half Dome and the central Yosemite high country. The video then documents the western trek across the rim, passing Yosemite Point before arriving at the top of the Yosemite Falls Trail. Seasonal water sources along this high-elevation section of the north rim are highly limited or entirely absent during late summer and autumn conditions. Hikers navigating this stretch typically need to pack in sufficient water, as reliable flowing streams are scarce along the plateau.
