Покрасила носочную пряжу ГРАДИЕНТОМ. Две ошибки и один удачный результат
In this video, I took on a bold experiment – gradient dyeing sock yarn at home! 🌊 Using a children's knitting machine, I created special "cords" to achieve smooth transitions of sea-green hues. I made three attempts, addressed two annoying mistakes, and found one perfect method that produces stunning results. If you want to learn how to dye yarn yourself and achieve a "sea depth" or "shrimp in the sea" effect, this video is for you! 🧦 Experiments and processes in this video: Attempt #1 (Single-strand cord): Knit Pro Terra Symphony yarn from a large 2-kilogram spool. Two separate 40-gram cords, dyed with a complex gradient (storm, moss, peach, sea wave). Analysis of errors with misaligned sections on two socks. Attempt #2 (Dyeing the Skein): A finished skein of Knit Pro Terra Symphony merino wool. "Shrimp in the Sea" colorway (salmon, turquoise, seaweed) with a 20-gram mini-companion in "Storm." Knitting socks in a "scale" pattern on Lykke wooden needles. Attempt #3 (Double-strand lace - Ideal): White Regia sock yarn. The lace is machine-knitted with two strands at once to create perfectly symmetrical skeins. A smooth transition from the sea depths to the seaweed. Timecodes for convenience: 00:00 — My new "shaitan machine" and the experiment plan. 01:12 — An instructive story about scammers on marketplaces. 02:52 — How did I knit laces for dyeing: with one strand or two? 05:05 — First difficulties and mistakes when working with a machine. 07:25 — Mixing colors: "Storm," "Sea Wave," "Moss," and "Peach." 09:15 — The process of applying dye to laces. 12:15 — The problem with matching socks: why an experiment became "freestyle." 14:05 — Review of dried yarn. What went wrong with the color "Storm"? 15:22 — The result of the first attempt: "Storm over the swamp." 17:18 — Second skein: "Shrimp in the sea" — my favorite! 19:40 — White Regia in two strands and a real gradient. 21:38 — Preparing for knitting: rewinding the laces 23:17 — Experiment results and the first rows of new socks. 25:46 — Showing a simple "Scale" pattern for nautical socks. 29:55 — Why knitting with two strands of lace is the best method. 31:40 — Plans for finished projects and finishing touches. ----- *Did you enjoy the experiment?
