Nashville Songwriters Hall of Famer Brett James talks Baylor, music & life

30 years later, this Hall of Fame Nashville songwriter still texts every day with his best friends from his time at Baylor University -- and now he's sent two kids to BU, too. "These are the guys who challenge me and make me a better person," says Brett James (BS '91), a 2020 Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee. "That was my experience at Baylor -- I was around such challenging, amazing people that I just wanted to keep up. ... "My two sons have both had an equally amazing experience [at Baylor] as to what I had... I think they've been challenged in all the ways you want your kids challenged: academically, socially, spiritually.
