Ávila: A Cidade Medieval da Espanha que Você Precisa Conhecer

Hi everyone! In the next videos, we'll show you perfect day trip destinations from Madrid. Come along! And in this first video, we'll explore Ávila, one of the best-preserved medieval cities in Spain. Before entering the city, stop at the Mirador de los Cuatro Postes (on Carretera Circunvalacion, s/n, 05002, Ávila). It offers a spectacular panoramic view of Ávila, famous for its walls that surround the historic center for more than 2.5 km. We chose to arrive in the city by car, but it's also possible to opt for buses, high-speed trains, or excursions departing from Madrid, combining Ávila and Segovia in a single day. If you are driving, park near the city walls; it costs 2 euros per hour (Parking El Grande Telpark by Empark, at Plaza de Santa Teresa de Jesus, s/n, 05001, Ávila). Start your visit at the Alcázar Gate, one of the most notable entrances to the city walls. Just opposite, outside the walls, is the charming Plaza del Mercado Grande, also known as Santa Teresa Square. To the left of the Alcázar Gate is the Paseo del Rastro, one of the best spots to photograph the imposing fortifications. To the right, a few meters away, is the main access to climb the city walls. Walk along them and enjoy the surrounding scenery. The entrance fee is R$ 5. Entering the medieval center, a few minutes from the Alcázar Gate, visit the first Gothic cathedral in Spain, the Ávila Cathedral. The visit costs 7 euros. Another church full of history and culture is the Basilica of Saint Vincent, one of the best examples of Romanesque architecture in Spain. It took about two centuries to build. The entrance fee is R$3. Near the Basilica, you will find the Visitor Reception Center, where you can see some models of the city walls and their gates. Whether by car or on foot, finish your tour by circling the city walls and exploring its main gates, each one full of history and unique charm. (Puerta del Mariscal; Puerta del Carmen; Puerta de Puente; and Puerta de San Vicente) If you enjoyed this video, leave a like, subscribe to the channel, and come explore the world with us.
