Re:Think 2024: Chloe on How Artificial Intelligence Shapes 21st Century Definitions of Beauty
The Re:Think Essay Competition is dedicated to nurturing critical thinking and encouraging the exploration of a wide array of thought-provoking and, at times, controversial topics. In 2024, Re:Think underscores the pivotal role that discourse, debate, and critical analysis play in addressing complex societal challenges. This year, CCIR received over 4,200 submissions from students representing more than 50 countries. From these entries, our distinguished jury panel—comprising scholars from both sides of the Atlantic—selected approximately 350 students for Honourable Mention, with 33 ultimately being recognised as award winners. In this video, we interview one of the Gold Award recipients, Chloe Huang from Westminster School in London, whose winning essay, "AI, AI, on the Wall": An Investigation into How Artificial Intelligence Shapes 21st Century Definitions of Beauty, offers a compelling exploration of how AI influences modern perceptions of beauty.
