How Fountain Pens Made Me Fall in Love with Journaling ✨

When I got my very first fountain pen, I thought I was simply picking up a new stationery hobby. I never imagined it would completely change the way I feel about slowing down, writing by hand, and spending time with my journal. It really changed a lot for me. Somewhere between discovering medium nibs, finding ink colours that really felt like home, filling endless notebook pages with swatches, and learning to stop saving my favourite stationery for "someday," journaling became something I genuinely looked forward to doing every day. Looking back at all of these memories, I don't think I fell in love with fountain pens because of the pens themselves necessarily but I fell in love with the quiet moments that these pens I was collecting created. In today's cozy chat, I'm sharing all of the little things that really transformed this hobby for me, from the generous and incredible fountain pen community to the simple joy of finding a pen, ink, and notebook that make you want to write just one more page. Thank you for being here and for sharing all of these moments and memories with me. 🤍 Chapters: 0:00 Introduction 0:56 The Beginning 4:00 Love of Swatching 14:58 Love of Journaling 18:03 Thoughts & Love of Community 25:30 Dried Swatches & Closeups 29:25 Final Thoughts & Outro Stationery Mentioned/Used: Speedball B0 Nib Glass Dip Pen (amazon) Hobonichi A5 Grid Notebook Inks Swatched (in order): Diamine Autumn Oak Kobe Chapel Oak Ferris Wheel Press Peter Moss Pilot Iroshizuku Yama Budo Van Dieman's Snowy Mountain Sunset About Pixie Dust Press A cozy corner of the internet for fountain pens, journaling, and all of the fun creative hobbies and rituals.
