The house we are introducing today is a custom-built residence completed through extensive communication with the homeowner, from the moment the land was selected to the design and finishing touches. The key themes of this home are "communication" and "rest." The design ensures that views and movement are unobstructed from any direction—east, west, south, or north. Furthermore, utilizing glass and open structures across the living room, kitchen, dining area, and attic, the design allows the presence of others to be felt from anywhere within the house. The kitchen features a structure that connects as a single space when the door is open, and separates functional areas when closed, satisfying both a sense of openness and independence simultaneously. Additionally, as the homeowner desired a home where the interior seamlessly blends with nature, a veranda was incorporated as one of the central spaces for dwelling. The veranda serves as a space to sit and rest for a while or to feel the breeze and scenery, while also acting as a buffer to further stabilize the flow of the entire house. Because the client desired a home where simply staying there would be a source of rest, we incorporated over 20 seating areas throughout the house into the design. Upon completion of construction, we found that although it is a residence, it turned out to be a space as comfortable as a café where one would want to linger, which is why we are pleased to introduce it to you.
