Richard Linklater on Why He Filmed 'Before Sunrise' in Vienna
Variety's chief film critic Peter Debruge sat down with director Richard Linklater at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival, which just kicked off in the Czech Republic. During their discussion, Linklater shared what inspired him to film "Before Sunrise" in Vienna. "I go to Vienna and have a great time with all these people, and I said, ‘I think I’m gonna do ‘Before Sunrise’ here,'" he said. "That was 100% because I went to the film festival in Vienna and met these great people ... it just seemed like more of a natural fit." The Karlovy Vary Film Festival began June 29 and runs through July 7. http://bit.ly/VarietySubscribe / variety / variety / variety
