He began experimenting on his family and friends, eventually leading to the death of his stepmother. At 14, he was committed to Broadmoor Hospital. Released in 1971, Young resumed his poisoning spree at a new workplace. His actions resulted in two deaths and several illnesses. He was convicted of murder and attempted murder in 1972. Young spent most of his life in prison and died of a heart attack in 1990.
