Her worth is far above rubies.” Her value lies in who she is in God, not in what she does. SUITABLE HELPER (Genesis 2:18) vs. 11 “The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain.” KIND vs. 12 “She does him good and not harm all the days of her life.” HARDWORKING vs. 13 and 14 “She seeks wool and flax and works willingly with her hands. She is like the merchant ships; she brings her food from afar.” SKILLED vs. 19 “She puts her hands to the distaff, and her hands grasp the spindle.” TAKES CARE OF HER APPEARANCE vs. 22b “She is clothed in fine linen and purple.” ENTERPRISIVE vs. 16 “She considers a field and buys it; with the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard.” vs. 24 “She makes fine linen garments and sells them, and supplies sashes to the merchants.” ORGANIZED WITH HER HOME | PLANS FOR HERSELF vs. 15 “She gets up while it is still night and provides food for her household and portions for her female servants.” vs. 27 “She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.” DILIGENT vs. 17 and 18 “She girds herself with strength and makes her arms strong. She perceives that her merchandise is good; her lamp does not go out at night.” GODLY vs. 20 “She opens her hand to the afflicted, and extends it to the needy.” HONORS HER HUSBAND vs. 23 “Her husband is respected among the judges, when he sits with the elders of the land.” TRUSTS IN GOD vs. 25 “Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the days to come.” WISE AND LOVING vs. 26 “She speaks with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.” HER VIRTUES ARE REVEALED vs. 28 and 29 “Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: ‘Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.’” (Speaking about who we truly are happens within the home) vs. Proverbs 30 and 31: “Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Give her the reward she has earned, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.” “The woman of Proverbs 31 is not perfect; she is a hardworking woman who walks in dependence on God because she knows that everything she is and does is simply empowered by His strength in her life.” Prayer: “Father, help me to walk in Your dependence, so that I may be all that You created me to be, and lovingly and excellently care for all that You have entrusted and will yet entrust to my hands.
