Grenades: G-23 Stun - Stun chargers and swarms Modifiers Atmospheric Spores - Map obscured by bug spores Roving Shriekers - Shrieker Swarms Game Notes Game stats 12 Bug Breaches. 47/75 Strafes. 9/12 Napalm. Shield took 26 hits from: 14x - Gloom hunter 7x - Alpha warrior 2x - Impaler tentacle 2x - Shrieker 1x - Gloom warrior Post game thoughts. The gloom is tough, especially with the hardest map modifiers possible. It's also the worst due to so many spaghetti coding being more obvious in the city. Line of sight and fighting distances are also severely reduced. Feels like the swarms and number of bugs also increased. Fighting in the city is definitely harder in general due to lack of vision What would I change? See my predator strain stimless run. Found a better build? If it does better under the exact same conditions and mission, show us and everyone can benefit. Why stealth armour again? So I can choose my engagements better and have more control over bug breeches timings. Why eagle strafing run? Can destroy patrols, spore spewers and shrieker nests easily. Can kill bile titans and chargers too. Isn't the shield bubble the same as stims? Lol no. It takes a stratagem slot and is armour that regenerates. It allows mistakes and trade offs in a realistic manner and it still promotes skilful play, when done right, without fixing broken limbs like stims. Why the grenade launcher? It's my mini eagle airstrike and mortar. Why stun grenades? Instantly stuns chargers and groups of enemies. Gas is nowhere near as reliable. Why napalm barrage and no 500kg? Heavies are mostly easy to dodge with terrain and stun grenades. The biggest problem are normally the hordes of bugs after you. Plus, I'm looking for the most efficient all round bug build. Why no SEAF artillery? You can't rely on it. Why no airstrike? I have a strafing run and ultimatum for heavies and I can just stun or dodge them. Why no armed supply pod booster? Being able to sprint 38s instead of 30s and regenerating all stamina within 7s instead of 10s is MASSIVE. Stamina beats aggro for bugs every day. Why no jump pack? There are 9 units that can outrun your jump pack on flat land, which is most of the map. Bugs come from all directions, they're hard to spot in fog and maps with no radar. Shield is better for survival and avoiding BS ragdoll and acid hit boxes due to poor coding. Why no breaker incendiary? Cookout reloads faster and it staggers brood commanders and stalkers. Why no autocannon? GL is better for hit and run. Why no guard dog? Guard dogs struggle with too many targets. Bubble shield is better. Why no gas strike or gatling barrage? A lot less kills than strafing run. Confuse? Stun grenades are faster and more reliable. They can't cover bug breeches. Biggest WTFs to be aware of in-game that'll catch you off guard. Predator bugs aren't slowed by water. Helldivers are. Shriekers can't be stunned by halt stun rounds. They should be, then glide into the ground headfirst and die from impact. Shriekers fly through most terrain. Shrieker corpses bypass shields. Bile spit often bypass shields and often not. It feels 50/50 and I can't figure out how or why. Hunter melee attacks will bypass shields when inside shields. Hunters fly through walls and enemy units. Stalker tongue will ragdoll shield users. Chargers run through impalers and their tentacles. Chargers still turn 180+ degrees. Impaler tentacles will regrow after being destroyed. Impaler tentacles will often one shot you from underground without ever touching you due to AOE. Mech arms and legs are insanely weak to explosive and acid which was coded as explosive. All attacks from a heavy units will ragdoll shield users. Enemies can walk and attack through corpses, but players can't.
