Daily drawing exercises for beginners: Drawing OVALS. Some cool tips to improve your drawing skills.

In this video you can find some more daily drawing exercises for beginners, as well as for people with a little more drawing practice under their belt. These exercises, are a great way to improve your drawing skills, but can also be used as drawing warm ups, or just a starting point for some doodling ideas. Like many others, I consider learning to draw a lifetime project, and even though I've been at it for a little while, I still consider myself a beginner, and how to get better at drawing a subject for constant exploration. On a side note: in this video, I talk about drawing from the shoulder. If you're uncertain what this really means, you might be able to find some help in this video:    • How to Draw From the Shoulder   And if you're completely clear in that, but would just like some practice, take a look at these great exercises:    • Drawing From the Shoulder - Best exercises   I am a big fan of drawing exercises, for a couple of different reasons. Obviously it's a good way to improve my drawing skills fast, but there's also a practical aspect to it. I am a guy with a pretty busy schedule, and this offers me an easy way to draw every day, because i can sit down and spend 5-10 minutes drawing basic shapes in the form of some ovals, boxes, cylinders or what might come to me in that moment. Now obviously, I would love it, if whenever the inspiration hit me, I would be able to spend a couple of hours doing some warm up exercises, researching some interesting topics, sketching an initial idea and finishing a cool drawing. But that's just not feasible, with two small children, a full time job, playing music, trying to stay healthy and all the other things that are a part my daily life... So drawing exercises are very handy in that aspect. I hope you find this video helpful, and that you can learn a little bit.
