Holy Habits | Love Without Labels

Last Sunday we concluded the first chapter of James where our author lays out why and how believers grow in spiritual maturity. Through the analogy of a "Map to Maturity", we challenged ourselves to assess where we are on the map. This week we’re diving into James 2:1-13 to look at what happens when the labels we use to navigate the world over-influence how we value one another. In this section, our author delivers a sharp critique of favoritism within the church, a warning that this kind of partiality is completely incompatible with the gospel. Pastor Marty addresses talk about the danger of the “label”, about God’s heart for us, and about the habit of loving unconditionally while maintaining healthy, Jesus-modeled boundaries.
