Albania – Duch krajobrazu na przełęczy Llogara: tam, gdzie widok przemawia

Albania supports spiritual experiences, well... unlike mythical India :) The spirit of the landscape is here. And it's waiting for a large audience. In the meantime, let's go to the Llogara Pass. This is a special episode of the Change Diary, recorded on the fringes of the search for spirituality in Albania. However, it is here that landscapes can shape a person's spiritual life! You just need to tune in. Just go to... the Llogara Pass. This isn't some secret, mystical place, but a well-known and popular tourist attraction. The route is difficult, demanding, yet also breathtaking. A path that can remind you that the landscape has the power to change a person. For example, to change one's mood. The ancient Greeks expressed this truth metaphorically, formulating the myth of the giant Antaeus, who drew exceptional power from contact with his mother Gaia. It seemed that as long as he felt the Earth beneath his feet, he was invincible. And then Hercules discovered his secret, and since he wasn't one for being shy, he lifted Antaeus and held him until the giant's strength gave out. Then he strangled him. Cruelly, but effectively, and as Wilson notes, ordinary mortals also weaken when they lose touch with Earth. The difference is that we humans, more or less consciously, create this fate for ourselves. So – let's go! Suggested route changes: From Vlore, all the way to Sarande in southern Albania, because this extraordinary road runs here, starting at the Llogara Pass. You can start the adventure in Orkium, where we catch our breath, enveloped in the Adriatic breeze. *** Richard Louv, author of "The Last Child in the Forest," observes: For humans, nature is increasingly closer to abstraction than reality. They observe it from a screen, consume it unwrapped from plastic wrap, put it on after buying it in the store, and… ignore it. They pay for this with a condition Louv calls nature deficit disorder. *** The theory of the regenerative and healing effects of natural landscapes is centuries-old. Hippocrates already claimed that nature is a cure for every ailment. Indeed, even in ancient Egypt, people treated themselves with walks in gardens. The 1699 handbook "The English Gardener" advised spending free time engaged in gardening: digging, planting, and weeding. And – I suspect – observing the beauty of nature. During World War II, the pioneer of modern psychiatry, Karl Menninger, introduced the horticultural movement (horticultural therapy) into the veterans' hospital system. *** The Llogara Pass is an incredibly moving place, no wonder it's called the most beautiful road in Europe in all guidebooks.
