782,000m³ of Power Station Boiler House Brought Down in Seconds
The Boiler House at West Burton Power Station was safely and successfully demolished using controlled explosives at 10am on Thursday 29th January 2026. Months of planning, engineering and coordination lead to a clean, controlled result. The 782,000m³ structure was the equivalent of over 300 Olympic Swimming Pools, more than 6,000 London buses, or 5 St. Paul's Cathedrals.
