The festival in honor of Our Lady of Penha, Patron Saint of the State of Espírito Santo, in the year 2026, takes place from April 5th to 13th and has as its theme "Make us instruments of peace," directly inspired by Franciscan spirituality and the legacy of Saint Francis of Assisi, whose Easter is being commemorated 800 years ago. The connection with the Jubilee Year of Saint Francis of Assisi reinforces the Franciscan identity of the Penha Festival and deepens the meaning of the theme chosen for 2026, directly inspired by the spirituality of the saint of Assisi. The proposal invites devotees to embrace an active stance of reconciliation, dialogue, and service, in a time marked by so much division and violence.
