He is the 25th generation Fujiwara Kanefusa, a swordsmith representing the modern Mino tradition. Instead of a single groove, a double groove is carved, the groove resonates well, and the tang is long and easy to use, making it a superior work by a master craftsman. It has been well polished, the surface is particularly beautiful, and since it is forged with a straight temper line rather than his signature Kanefusa-midare pattern, it is thought to be a carefully crafted custom order.
