The Macy's at The Wanamaker Building - Exploring a Historic Department Store Before it Closes

John Wanamaker opened his department store in Center City Philadelphia in 1876. It was considered the first modern department store and the first to feature price tags, telephones, and electric lighting. Although Wanamaker's closed as a brand, the store remained open until present day as a Macy's. It houses the world's largest pipe organ as well as giant bronze eagle sculpture. It was also the filming location of the 1980's romantic comedy Mannequin featuring Kim Cattrall and James Spader. Join me and lets explore this beautiful iconic building while we still can!
