Türkiye, Batı’nın sömürge düzenini nasıl bitirdi? | Belgesel

Maps that for years depicted Africa as small, poor, and needy actually constructed a mindset. Those who diminished Africa on the Mercator map simultaneously attempted to obscure the continent's power, wealth, and strategic intelligence. Colonialism occupied both lands and perceptions. Films, books, and documentaries about Africa have all been products of this distorted view. Yet, Africa, with its underground resources, trade routes, and geopolitical location, played a decisive role in the construction of the modern world. While the West legitimized massacres, coups, and economic chains under the guise of a civilizing mission, it still attempts to maintain this system today by keeping its central banks in Paris. China and Russia, although using different tools, became part of the same self-serving logic that squeezed Africa into singular relationships. Turkey, however, when it entered the field, saw that Africa was not just a fairy tale, but that people were seeking dignity, equality, and partnership. Schools, hospitals, humanitarian aid, and a mutually beneficial approach became the fundamental distinguishing features of Turkey compared to other actors. Young people in Africa received not only education in Turkey, but also a family, a sense of belonging, and respect, and they carried this back to their countries. It is impossible for us to understand Africa without correcting the mental map constructed by the West, and without understanding Africa, it is impossible for us to understand how Turkey is a rising power on this continent.
